As the scale of cement production continues to expand, the demand for limestone mines is also increasing, requiring cement companies to further improve the utilization rate of limestone in mines. Formulating a reasonable limestone mine optimization utilization plan is the key to improve the utilization rate of limestone. Firstly, the utilization principles and optimization conditions of limestone mines are analyzed, and then the technical measures of limestone mine optimization are studied. The results show that the combination of sampling and online inspection and the establishment of digital mine model can maximize the optimal utilization of limestone mines.

(1) Reduce the stripping ratio of the mine, and make good use of the low-grade limestone ore with low CaO content to extend the service life of the mine. As an important economic indicator in mining, it often determines the allocation of mining equipment, personnel and other resources. Thus, further optimization of the stripping ratio can effectively reduce waste discharge and increase the service life of the mine.

(2) Increase the stripping material or impurity material to reduce the auxiliary materials (silica-alumina raw materials) with the use of low-grade limestone to reduce the purchase cost of silica-alumina raw materials and outsourced materials.

(3) Low-grade limestone does not form a very complete crystalline structure in the process of formation, so its crystalline structure has the characteristics of easy decomposition, good burnability and low energy consumption in firing, and the use of low-grade limestone can reduce the coal consumption of clinker firing. Relevant research shows that the heat consumption of clinker is 10%-15% lower than that of high-grade limestone for the production of cement clinker using low-grade limestone.
